Formerly a Segerstrom Center for the Arts Support Group

The Cohan chapter has closed the curtain on its long running performance honoring George M Cohan and supporting the Segerstrom Center for the Arts.  We are now the "Eat, Drink and be Merry" social group.

Men cook night May 18th 2011 at the Chew casa.  And...in June we will dine in style at Carbonara's!

Linda Thauer, Co-Chair of The Guilds of The Center, with the new Chairman of the George M Cohan Chapter for 2008-2009, Marta Thorne.

Marta takes over from Wayne Dunham and brings a spirit of enthusiasm and fun to the Chapter.

Thank you Wayne for your leadership and years of service to The Guilds and to the George M Cohan Chapter.  We all love you.

This site is still under construction, so please be patient.  If you have suggestions,  feel free to email Ed Chew by clicking on his name.

The George M Cohan Chapter of the Guilds of the Orange County Performing Arts Center, is one of the oldest of The Guilds Chapters.  The Chapter has members who, as Founders, supported and donated to the Center when it was still a vision and lima  beans still grew on the present site.

Chapter members are largely retired professional people, mostly couples, who have chosen to put their time, energy and money into supporting the Artscenter through The Guilds. The approximately 50 members live in or around San Clemente (i.e. Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano and Laguna Hills) and are part of the South Coast County Area Guild.

The Chapter normally meets once a monthf rom September through June in members' homes .    Sometimes we find other venues, such as Molly Blooms Irish Bar and Restaurant (i.e. The Pub), Bristol Farms, Dana Point Yacht Club,  including day trips out of area.

We are the nicest, fun loving, lovable bunch of people around.  The George M. Cohan Chapter represents what makes San Clemente a wonderful place to live and enjoy life in a coastal community.

On these pages you will find pictures in our photo albums, a calendar of coming events and an application for membership in this wonderful chapter of The Guilds.  We have thrown in a bit about Geoge M Cohan, a giant of the American musical theatre.  He was much more than "A Yankee Doodle Dandy."
